Lilly Ledbetter
Lilly Ledbetter is a women who fought for ten years to have women and men have equal pay in the United States. Lilly Ledbetter filed a Gender Pay discrimination Suit against the company she had worked for and she won the jury verdict. Lilly Ledbetter was born in Possum Trot, Alabama in April 1938. The Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Restoration Act loosens the time limits on the 180 day to file a law suit against the company, this is because Lilly did after the 180 day time limit and many courts ruled that she should have filed in the 180 days instead of after. Today Lilly goes around encouraging women to stand up for their civil rights.
